Saturday July 21st 2012 will see the grand re-opening of Hillworth Park.
Although the Park was officially reopened a while back, and the park will be open to the general public before this event, the 21st will be the official grand re-opening of the park in all it’s glory.
I have been approached in a capacity to book live music for the Park on a Sunday once a month. The nature of the music is to be family friendly, enjoyable to all ages and accessible. So no metal.
The dates that require filling are, Saturday 21st July (opening), Sunday 29th July, Sunday 26th August (Reading weekend) and Sunday 30th September. With a break over Autumn / Winter, so expect live music to feature approximately 5 months a year.
Malcolm Ship, of Seend Folk Club is mooted to have agreed Sunday 29th July for his act, The Penny Red.
The live music will be performed under a small marquee, via a simple PA – with fans / families / passer by’s being encouraged to bring pic-nics etc between 2pm and 4pm
There will be a very limited budget to pay for acts, but interested parties should contact me for potential slots. I am looking for acts who could supply their own PA and able to fill 2 sets of 45 minutes. Alternatively a full line up of local singer song writers is an option OR even an open mic.
Further details to follow as and when they’re organised!
