Jim Lockey & The Solemn Sun, Fantasy Radio Session.

Cheltenham based “Anarcho-Anglo” Folk-Rock 4-piece JIM LOCKEY & THE SOLEMN SUN recorded a stunning 3 song session on Saturday 19th May, at Ginger Productions, Poulshot.

The band, who are on a massive UK tour, and are about to head to Ireland, spent the late afternoon recording an unplugged session for Fantasy Radio, a new mid-Wiltshire based radio station, which can be streamed on line from their website, or listened to through a wireless on 97fm.

Their set was recorded for Thursday nights, bespoke local, alternative + underground session presented by one time, Lonely Hearts / Winchester Railway Inn promoter, Matthew Corbett and produced by one time, Bath Moles promoter, Kieran Moore.

Matthews session is broadcast every Thursday between 7-10pm, and features all the best local-to-mid-Wiltshire live gig info and gossip, loads of our best Wiltshire bands rubbing shoulders with some national underground gems, and a film review section in association with Devizes Cinema.

Every week there is also an in-session live band, who provide us with either solo performances or unplugged / stripped back band sets, which this Thursday, May 24th will feature Jim Lockey & The Solemn Sun. Their 20 minute session will be broadcast at approximately 8.15pm.

The band enjoyed an hour and a half recording session, prior to heading off to the Swindon leg of their tour, and were once again, true gents to work with and watch. When I receive some snaps of them in the studio, I’ll update them immediately, otherwise check out Matthews Fantasy Radio page, and check out what else has been going on.
