Senor Scorpion set for studio date

Devizes based classic vibe, wig out jam band, Senor Scorpion – who won Devizes Festival Showcase gig back in June – have been given their date from Ginger Productions for the recording of their debut CD.

Ginger Productions is gearing up to be used by local musicians for what ever their recording needs may be, and Senor Scorpion will be the first band putting the studio through it’s paces. The band hit the studio in Poulshot, on Sunday 12th August.

The recording will be handled by experienced engineer, Phil Dawson – who has a wealth of experience stretching over decades – which has included his own record label back in the 70’s – Mad Dog Records, which mainly put out Funk records. I’ve heard them, and they sound as studio quality as any band could wish for – so I am super excited to see how the recording of Senor Scorpion turns out, and fingers crossed getting more of our local acts down there to document more of our local scene.

Here’s a picture of the band in action at the Corn Exchange, taken (or supplied!) by Will Scammell.

If you are interested in recording in the studio, or want more information – email mail at

Remember you can still listen to many live sessions that have been recorded by Ginger, for Matthew Corbett’s session via the Fantay Radio Website.
