Bell By The Green, returning to former glories…

The Bell By The Green is returning to it’s former glory, as last night saw,not 1 but TWO shows, with local covers band in the front bar, and the Devizes Festival Showcase warm up action, happening out back.

Devizes Melodic-Post-Hardcore types, HOMELAND, enjoyed a perfect set – and we again brought people far and wide to Devizes, with acts from Swindon and Bath also performing.

Tonight see’s part-local, as quoted on Spotted In Devizes “Blues with a hint of Rock”  band SHADES OF BLUE performing in the front bar, which is free entry.

For the next 2 weeks, there’s more Devizes Festival warm up shows, with a Pop Punk dedicated night on Friday the 17th, featuring part-local boys Matt Volpi and Ed Scott head lining with their band NOT MY FINEST HOUR – and towards the end of the month, on Friday 24th May our big Indie bonanza featuring the Assirati brothers, Caleb and Jake’s new band BEYOND WONDERLAND  perform their first Devizes show in this new guise.

Further ahead, Abe Juggins is putting on a 70’s Punk show at the end June on Friday 28th, featuring Punk 101 and Boots n’ All. I have tours booked for July and September bringing some quality UK touring bands through Devizes. Notably a 2000 Trees Festival warm up slot for THAT FUCKING TANK.

The usual and continued front bar tribute and covers bands will performing regularly most Fridays, but you’ll have to check the A-Board at the front of the venue for more information!

With all this going on, it’s a tentative suggestion that under Eddie’s stewardship the venue is returning to the former Paul McDonald glory days, where we regularly saw the likes of Frank Turner and LostAlone coming through town – Just please keep supporting the scene, and “Voting with your feet”

Spread the, Word.
