So Beard Yet So Far

Another year, and another climatic end to our live music programme at The Lamb in Devizes. The shows are coming thick and fast now, with the dust barely settled after Dave McPherson announced that “Devizes was his favourite” (*shucks* bet you say that at all your shows Dave) we have another international jet setter in the shape of Swedish pop act, LAST BOX OF SPARKLERS.Last Box Of Sparklers is a pop act led by former Flaming Moes front man, Erik Gunnar Nyberg. He put the fast paced pop songs to rest in his previous outfit to craft a slower, more pronounced version of indie pop. Still with one foot in the Swedish melodic language but now with more attention paid to the production detail than before, has resulted in 4 EPs, one album and a recent double sided single “Cat Power Girl / GROWL ! ! !” (You can listen to one side of the single, below.)
Erik has recently started to perform live, usually with just his voice and his Squire Jaguar guitar, Devizes will be the lead show on his 10 date southern UK tour, titled “So Beard Yet So Far”  – We are humbled and honoured to host this very special performer.
Heading out in the road with Erik, is one of Wiltshire’s finest men. Shaun Buswell will already be familiar to the Devizes folk, after his fine performance supporting Chris T-T at The Lamb, around this time last year. Not to mention the first ever live music performance at St Marys Arts Centre back in March of this year.
Shaun is a self confessed musician, comedian, radio DJ and challenger. You can also add in acting “extra” after moonlighting in recent TV programmes including an episode of Dr Who recently.
His shows vary from solo-man-with-a-guitar to a 70 piece band and symphony orchestra. Playing folk, orchestral and indie music, Shaun has managed plays on MTV, VH1, XFM & BBC, been Amazon’s #1 in their “Hot 100” and had a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe, along with completing 4 successful UK tours. If all that was not enough he also completed his Underground Orchestra Challenge and found time to do it again with the Edinburgh Fringe Orchestra Challenge. Relentless. PHEW.
Opening the night will be TAMSIN QUIN. A regular performer in Wiltshire, Tamsin is signed to Swindon label, Secret Chord Records, having released an EP earlier this year. Her history of gigs is envious to say the least as she goes from strength to strength with each successive support slot.

Capable of selling out the Lamb as a head liner, Tamsin is equally confident at opening a bill, knowing that her song craft and performance is enough to make others raise their game. This is an exceptionally strong bill of live music that you’re every likely to see and no where willl you see it FOR FREE like you do at The Lamb in Devizes.

Do you play an orchestral instrument OR do you know anyone who does? This is a rare opportunity to be involved with musical experiment, much larger than the sum of it’s parts. Shaun is once again challenging himself to form a form of orchestra. You can read about that
BUT if we happen to have piqued your interest, you’re actively encouraged to come to Shaun’s performance Friday and JOIN IN! Please follow the link above and contact Shaun, and help make this musical performance even more special than it already going to be!
