IT’S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN before you know it, we will be trotting out our top 10 records of the year and announcing Springs shows. Before that though there is one last show in Devizes for us, and you’re all invited.
Saturday 5th December see’s us once again bring front men of crazy good/cool/legendary British underground bands, this time in the shape of Dan Allen…
Some of you will know Dan as the front man, and voice of UK underground punk band, Ducking Punches. If not, don’t worry, you can play catch up.
Ducking Punches played Reading & Leeds Festival this year, as well as a European tour in April (ably supported by Devizes regular, Mark McCabe) and toured the UK supporting the likes of Frank Turner – If that wasn’t enough to convince you, then you need to know Dan will be hitting Devizes just a few weeks after completing a US tour with his band throughout October and November. AND AS OF TODAY, they have signed to Sheer’s favourite record label (behind all of our other favs!) XTRA MILE.
If that isn’t enough either, Dan is also a celebrated illustrator! He did the album art for B-Sydes début album Constant Fictions, and regularly does tour posters including the last Brawlers one, where we hosted the Swindon leg…

AND just to make sure we are absolutely KNOCKING IT OUT OF THE PARK, Dan is bringing his friend, Simon Wells aka guitarist and vocalist from legendary UK underground punk band SNUFF with him.
Main billed support is Marlborough’s George Wilding. George first played The Lamb as part of the now sadly defunct Damp Sessions. We thought he was ace, but never pinned him down for a return, well now we have.
Last time out, he has a folky, 60’s vibe. Come see if it’s changed in the interim.
We also are giving a platform to local poet of all things Devizes related, Gail Forster, who came 3rd in the Devizes Festival open mic poetry competition back in June. Gail is a regular Facebook poet, sharing her thoughts on local issues, via this medium.
And finally, the OPENER comes from Jack Moore. Jack really shouldn’t be opening, but we don’t do bad shows, we do great nights of music, and it starts with Jack. He did a lot of gigs for me this year, we’ve had a bit of a break, and look how he has grown. Last time I saw him his performance had developed, so it’s great to have him back.
Doors 8pm @ The Lamb, Devizes.
8 – 8.30 – Jack Moore
8.30 – 8.45 – Poetry from Gail Foster
8.45 – 9.15 – George Wilding
9.30 – 10pm – Simon Wells
10.15 – 11pm – DAN ALLEN aka DUCKING PUNCHES
Entry to this show, as with all our others is FREE – So you really have no excuse to support ORIGINAL LIVE MUSIC, and have an absolute riot at the same time.
ps. I promise a mega mix of terrible / brilliant Xmas music (which ever your persuasion)
