Your yearly dose of Chap Hop in Wiltshire

94mm Beer Mat CIRCLE GUIDE

Sheer Music are delighted to announce for the 4th time, that we will be bringing Steam-Punk Chap-Hopper Professor Elemental to Wiltshire on Friday 17th March, his second time at Swindon’s Victoria.

The Prof’s last outing was only last year where he tore up an intimate crowd of aptly dressed, furtive fans. The reception was insane, as he quipped about Swindon, and made us appreciate it for all its splendour, challenged his fellow Chap Hop star Mr B, and became friends with our own resident parody kings, The Real Cheesemakers.

Check out this ridiculous set opener from the Cellar Bar in Devizes in 2015;

Little has changed over the past year, except Brexit, Trump and the cost of living. Giving the Professor plenty of ammunition to want to spit more rhymes.  Enough so, for him to rework the lyrics to fan favourite “I’m British”.

In fact this time around, there’s talk of a collaboration with The Reel Cheesemakers or a vice versa guest appearance, if they can work it all out in time (and in the sound check…)

Every show that Professor Elemental has done for us, he has been aided by the support slot of Bristolian Victorian farmer, CORKY. That might suggest that we’ve run out of ideas, but couldn’t be further from the truth. The truth is, Corky has become a serf for The Professor, and now has to travel about with him, when he’s not milking his cows. It’s a scenario that will certainly come up over the course of the evening.

But perhaps the bit we’re most delighted about is welcoming Leicester based performance poet, POETMAN to Swindon. There may be 2 divisions between us, but both teams are fairing about as good as each other in their respective leagues, so there will be no football banter scene points to be won.  Poetman aka Will was bought to our attention by regular gig goer and supporter of our shows, Mare Grills. Mare rocked up at the Ducking Punches gig back in 2015, before becoming a main stay in our audiences. She is actually a Swindon resident (ish – SN25…) but rarely has call to come out in Swindon. This is set to change as her suggestion of Will has turned into a fruitful relationship with us, as he gets better with every performance, and is slowly developing an enviable list of support slots and history, including John Otway, Mr B and Professor Elemental. Poetman will be returning for a HUGE event in June, which we hope to announce at this gig, so you’re encouraged to get down early and catch him first.

Overall, you are encouraged to dress up Steam Punk or Victorian Farmer. Your encouraged to shout as many heckles as possible to give the acts something to work off. There may be a prize for best outfit and best quip.

You may also have seen our Sheer Vs Ocelot promo Beer mats, which are all over Swindon – pick them up, tell your friends, give them to like people or simply force them on unsuspecting friends, they’ll thank you for it in the long run.

I can’t add the video whilst on the train, thanks to GWR’s fair usage policy (which I can’t really complain about can I?) So just Youtube him, and watch any number of his videos, they’re all fun.
