Chap Hop comes to Devizes!

BOOM! Not one but TWO Chap Hop superstar shows are coming to Devizes over the summer.

For those uninitiated of you, Chap Hop is the bizarre, unexpectedly excellent marring of the Queens English and Hip Hop. Imagine George Formby meets The Sugarhill Gang.

One of the creators of the scene, Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer, will be performing at Devizes Town Hall, on Saturday 21st June as part of Devizes Fringe Festival, a free entry event that will require a ticket. Those tickets will be available from WeGotTickets in May.

To follow up this foray into uncharted Hip Hop musical landscapes (in Devizes at any rate) will be the equally excellent, Professor Elemental, who will be performing at St Mary’s Arts Centre on Saturday 19th July. Tickets available from WeGotTickets, priced £9 now.

Announcement: Chip Daddy to support Chap Hop creator

Sheer Music has the privilege to announce that, Devizes’s own prodigal son, CHIP DADDY has the esteemed honour of supporting Chap Hop creator MR B THE GENTLEMAN RHYMER on Friday November 9th at The Victoria, Swindon.

Chip has been steadily raising his profile over recent months, with shows opening for the likes of Goldie Lookin’ Chain as well as video excursions across Europe and 2 fantastically well  received shows at The Vic, opening for 9 piece hip-hop band,  A&T as well as comedy parody band Kova Me Badd (must get these to Devizes!) November really will be a must see.

I haven’t quite got round to thinking of how this is going to be angled, but it’s certainly in the region of Chav Hop meets Chap Hop. Anyone who has witnessed Mr B’s roasting of Professor Elemental will know what a quick wit and tongue he has… Let’s hope Jamie doesn’t do anything to warrant his own roasting…

£8 early bird tickets can be bought from SeeTickets – or direct from venue. £10 on door. Please note this venue is strictly 18+.
