REFUGE is a celebration of female fronted music, which raises money for an excellent cause, Swindon Women’s Aid.

It also celebrates beautiful buildings in this Wiltshire town, and fills them with stunning music.

The headline act for this unique event is Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo.
Hailing from Bridgetown, Western Australia, Emily Barker is a compelling songwriter with a gift for weaving melody and words. Her talent is perfectly complimented by the magnificent arrangements of her band The Red Clay Halo, whose rootsy ensemble playing underpins Barker’s agile vocal blend of strength and fragility
Colour the Atlas are main support. A home grown force, made of 4 friends from Swindon – Jess Hall (vocals), Alex Stone (guitar, vocals), Andy Vincent (Bass) and Stef Pysanczyn (Drums) – whose agile musicianship and complex songwriting belies their tender years; all are still in their teens.
We’re so pleased to have Jen Olive on the bill. Throwing around time signatures, and stories of love and the universe, her music is a joyous mix of happiness and weirdness – travelled via New Mexico.
Faye Rogers is a Swindon based singer songwriter who possesses a worrying maturity in her ability to communicate the ecstacy and anxiety of a young life, whilst carefully crafting guitar melodies and vocal harmonies with a intimate texture and delicacy.
REFUGE aims to be beautifully intimate.

… It will raise money for an incredibly important cause, a local domestic violence service.

The event not only raises crucial funds, but highlights the work being done by Swindon Women’s Aid, and domestic violence services nationally.

REFUGE is a wine, cake and candles evening which allows music to be heard in the most warming and joyous way.
