ex-Devizes lad(s) come good…

Edward Scott, the young, handsome, one time vocalist in a string of bands… has come good with his new Uni band, NOT MY FINEST HOUR – featuring Rowde bassist-also-of-so-many-bands-it’s-hard-to-keep-up, Matthew Volpi!

Officially based in Cardiff, the 4 piece drop their name within the first minute of their 7 track EP “No One Likes You”  which is a rad and bold move, mixing Ed’s smooth vocal over the occasional hardcore belch. The EP is up for a “pay as you like / free download” rate on their Bandcamp –

The bands sound, lands somewhere in the region of Mexicofallz, without the samples, easy on the ear, easy to get under your skin, pop punk type band. Clearly leaving their influences on their sleeve, NMFH are brash, bold and fun.

In fact, they have the exact same hardcore vocal I keep doing to normal songs, when I think they should have a hardcore vocal… Weird. Weird, but really hitting that live, fun sound on the head. They’re already head lined The Fleece in Bristol to great reception – you’ll have your chance to catch them in Devizes in May, when the band head line the Bell By The Green as part of Devizes Festival’s showcase event.

You can head to the Sheer Music >facebook events< page for more info – Or keep an eye on this blog, the details will be announced soon!

New local Pop Punk band…

Devizes has a brand new pop punk to get excited about, APOLOGIES – following in previous bands such as Spite, Throwing Paper Aeroplanes, 123 & In, The Rendezvous Point, Story Cut Short etc we see 5 fresh new faces to the scene.

4 of the members are exclusive to Devizes, with their bassist coming from Swindon, they take their cues from My Chemical Romance, Green Day, Blink182, Fall Out Boy, All Time Low and Bowling for Soup.

You can bet your bottom dollar, when they have videos and music to share, we will be there sharing it with you, and when I have a show suitable they will be opening.

Go check out their Facebook page and give it a like. We’ll be catching them live very soon
